Faculty of Medicine Unud Provides Education to Teachers, Staff, Alumni and Students at Gurukula Pasraman, Bangli

The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University carries out the Udayana Serving Program at the Gurukula Pasraman, Bangli (14/5/2022) which is a joint activity between the undergraduate nursing study program and the nursing profession with the doctor education study program and the medical profession.

There are four main activities carried out in this community service. First, is a health service activity for teachers, staff and alumni that focuses on early identification of neuropathic symptoms and routine supplementation to prevent and treat neuropathic conditions at the Gurukula Pasraman, which is coordinated by dr. Putu Gede Sudira, M.Sc., Sp.N.

The second is health education activities on clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) for elementary school students and the formation of adolescent peer educators at the Gurukula Pasraman which is coordinated by Ns. Made Rini Damayanti, S.Kep., MNS.

The third is sexual reproduction health education and prevention of sexual violence to junior and senior high school students at Gurukula Pasraman, which is coordinated by Dr. Ns. Ika Widi Astuti, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Mat.

The last activity was the delivery of medicines, masks, disinfectant liquid, stationery and basic necessities as well as the installation of educational media in the form of banners for preventing sexual violence, stopping bullying and the importance of nutrition and physical activity in the pasraman environment.


Education materials for sexual reproductive health and sexual prevention were given by dr. I Made Oka Negara, S.Ked., FIAS., M.Kes. which was attended by all junior high and high school students at Prasraman Gurukula. All participants were enthusiastic in participating in the counseling activities with many questions and discussions from participants. On this occasion, the service also facilitates the formation of adolescent peer educators to increase the ability, independence and activeness of cadres in dealing with health problems in the school age group. So that in the end they can become a driving force for all school residents to create healthy and resilient schools. Going forward, refresher activities for peer educators will continue to be carried out every year so that the implementation will continue at the Gurukula Bangli Pasraman.


The Principal of the Gurukula Pasraman, I Wayan Arsada SPd, MPd., in his remarks said "the students in the Gurukula Pasraman come from all over Indonesia, from Batam to Papua. The students who live not only come from poor families, but come from various backgrounds. The aim of parents to place their children in Gurukula pasraman is to practice independence and discipline in life. Gurukula pasraman also accepts children who have legal problems. These children are entrusted by the prosecutor's office and the police to receive guidance so that they will be better in the future. Pasraman Gurukula would like to express his deepest gratitude to the Faculty of Medicine, which regularly provides assistance not only materially in the form of support for medicines, vitamins and basic necessities, but also provides health services and health education to all teachers, staff, alumni and students at Gurukula Pasraman. Bangli," he said.
