Field Assessment of Re-Accreditation of Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University


The Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Health Education (LAM-PTKes) conducted a field assessment in the context of re-accreditation of the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. This re-accreditation was carried out to maintain and improve the quality of education and services at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.


Officially opened in the meeting room of Prof. dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah, FK Unud Building, Denpasar, the field assessment by LAM-PTKes was held for 2 days on January 30 and 31, 2025 and assessed by two assessors, namely:

1. Dr. dr. Muhammad Arifin Panenrengi, Sp.BS(K) (Airlangga University, Surabaya / Assessor 1)

2. dr. Rudiyuwono Raharjo, M.Si.Med, Sp.B, Sp.BA, Subsp.DA(K) (Diponogoro University, Semarang / Assessor 2)


The opening ceremony began with remarks by the Head of the Department of Surgery, dr. I Made Darmajaya, Sp.B., Sp.BA., Subsp.D.A. (K)., MARS., Representative of the Director of RSUP IGNG Ngoerah represented by the Manager of Education and Training, dr. Yohanes Yanson Purnawan, MARS and continued with remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P. who also officially opened the event. On this occasion, Prof. Januartha said that accreditation is an obligation that has been regulated by law so that supervision from external parties is needed to be able to objectively see aspects that require improvement and enhancement in the management of study programs.


"Assessment by external parties will certainly be more objective, we really hope that the assessors can provide a comprehensive picture to see the gaps in deficiencies that still exist in the neurosurgery study program which will be used as input for improvement, so that in the future the Neurosurgery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University can improve the quality of the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education in order to produce graduates who have competencies in accordance with the vision and mission of the study program." he said


Meanwhile, Prof. Rai in his speech said that currently Udayana University is in the process of transforming into a PTN-BH, and the university strongly supports the development of the education process in the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program in order to achieve superior accreditation.

"With the presence of the assessors, we hope that the assessors can provide input and recommendations that can help develop the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, and of course we hope that the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program can achieve an Excellent accreditation score that can support the transformation of Udayana University into a PTN-BH." he said


After being officially opened, the event continued with a discussion session regarding input and areas that needed improvement. The assessment agenda for 2 days was;


1. Meeting of the assessor team with the head of the study program management unit and practice facilities.

2. Discussion of the assessor team with the head of the study program management unit.

3. Interviews and assessments of lecturers who teach in the study program.

4. Interviews and assessments of the adequacy of educational staff regarding academic and non-academic services.

5. Interviews and assessments with alumni and students representing all students from each class regarding academic and non-academic services.

6. Visitation of the assessor team to the Main Teaching Hospital and Network Hospitals


The opening ceremony of the re-accreditation was also attended by the Head of the Denpasar IDI Branch, Director of Mangusada Hospital, Head of LPPM, Head of LP3M, Head of USDI, Head of Library UPT, Head of the FK Unud Senate, Vice Deans of FK Unud, Coordinators of Undergraduate Study Programs of FK Unud, Heads of Departments, Coordinators of Units within the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, as well as users of graduates and the entire Accreditation Task Force Team.
