Guest Lecture: An Integrated Digital Framework for the Prevention of Heart Attack, Stroke, and Lifestyle Diseases
The Master of Public Health Program, in collaboration with the Bachelor of Public Health Program and the Neurology Specialist Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a guest lecture to improve the lives of stroke patients before they reach critical condition. The theme was "An Integrated Digital Framework for the Prevention of Heart Attack, Stroke, and Lifestyle Diseases." The lecture took place in the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Room, 4th Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University Building, Jalan P.B. Sudirman, Denpasar. (March 27, 2026)
The purpose of the guest lecture was for participants to not only understand the theory that behavioral changes can save the lives of stroke patients before critical conditions occur, but also to gain a real-world understanding of how to leverage digital technology as a business opportunity in the healthcare sector.
This event featured two speakers, experts in their fields: Dr. The guest lectures were delivered by Dr. Bala Nair from Auckland University of Technology (AUT), New Zealand, with the topic "From Awareness to Venture: Digital Ecosystems for Preventing Heart Attacks, Strokes, and Lifestyle Diseases," and Dr. Putri Rossyana Dewi, S.Ked., Sp.N., with the topic "Stroke, Heart Attack, and Lifestyle Changes: Primary Prevention," moderated by Made Ayu Hitapretiwi Suryadhi, S.Si, M.Hsc, Ph.D.
The event began with remarks from the Coordinator of the Master of Public Health Study Program, Dinar Saurmauli Lubis, S.KM., MPH., Ph.D., who emphasized that digital health is not just a technological tool, but a bridge connecting research, clinical practice, and community engagement. He hoped that this guest lecture would broaden the insights shared and inspire all participants to not only understand health issues but also to boldly design transformative innovations.
Following the remarks from the Coordinator of the Master of Public Health Study Program, the event continued with remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K)., in his remarks expressed his deepest appreciation for the collaboration between the preclinical and clinical fields in this forum. Interdisciplinary meetings like this are extremely rare and will strengthen the foundation for solving future healthcare problems. The topic of digital ecosystems in the management of heart attacks and strokes is highly advanced and crucial. Students must understand how technology can be integrated to strengthen our healthcare system.
"We hope this collaboration will not stop at guest lectures, but will continue into international research and community service, and we need to expand our institutions' reach globally through strategic partnerships. This guest lecture was attended by students from the Master of Public Health Program, the Bachelor of Public Health Program, the Neurology Specialist Program, and lecturers from their respective study programs. After the presentation of material from the resource person, the event continued with a discussion session.
