Medical Action 2025
Medical Action 2025 was officially held as a collaboration between three regional scientific institutions in Bali, initiated by the Hippocrates Scientific Group (KIH) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, along with the Aesculapius Scientific Group (KIAs) of the Warmadewa Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Hermestha of the Ganesha University Faculty of Medicine. The event is under the auspices of the National Agency for Scientific Analysis and Development (BAPIN) of ISMKI. The event was opened by the Dean of FKIK, Warmadewa University, represented by Dr. Putu Gde Hari Wangsa, Sp.DV., Head of the Student Services Unit, and accompanied by the Chairpersons of BAPIN, KIH, KIAs, and Hermestha. The event took place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Kubu Bali WCC, Tabanan.
With the primary goal of strengthening student collaboration and scientific spirit, Medical Action 2025 integrated three main agendas: presentations, community service, and research data collection. The presentation session was aimed at young men and women and women from Penatahan Village, Penebel District, Tabanan Regency, who were the primary target groups for this activity.
The community service activities included basic health checks (measurement of weight, height, and blood pressure) as well as education and counseling on healthy nutrition. In parallel, students also collected data for several research focuses relevant to the community's situation, including:
1. Examining the physical and mental health of women victims of violence.
2. Examining the influence of low birth weight (LBW) and family food security on stunting.
3. Measuring the effectiveness of educational interventions by comparing community knowledge about dental caries before and after counseling.
Overall, this research focused on improving the physical, mental, and nutritional health of the community. Through analysis of risk factors and the effectiveness of educational media for vulnerable groups, Medical Action 2025 provided a concrete platform for Balinese medical students to apply their knowledge and make tangible scientific contributions.
