SEMINAR ROLE OF GENERAL DOCTORS IN SOLID CANCER INITIAL MANAGEMENT
On December 18, 2019, the Surgical Oncology Division of Sanglah Hospital held a seminar with the theme "The Role of General Practitioners in the Early Management of Solid Cancer" which took place in the Werkudara Hall of Sanglah Hospital. This seminar was held with the aim of increasing the knowledge of general practitioners in dealing with patients with solid cancer before being referred to more sophisticated facilities.
The event started with a speech by dr. I Wayan Sudana, M.kes as director of Sanglah Hospital and followed by remarks by Prof. Dr. dr. Ida Bagus Tjakra Wibawa Manuaba, MPH, SpB(K)Onk at the same time gave a short lecture on Management of Solid Tumors by Surgeon & Surgical Oncologist .
This seminar consists of 5 materials which are divided into 2 sessions. The first session discussed Solid Cancer Management in General and Referral System which was presented by Dr.dr. I Wayan Sudarsa, SpB(K)Onk, followed by Breast Cancer: Early Detection and Management presented by dr. INW Steven Christian SpB(K)Onk.
The second session of this seminar discussed 3 materials. The first material was presented by dr. I Gede Budi Setiawan, SpB(K)Onk with the title Management of Thyroid Cancer and Oral Cancer. The second material was presented by Dr.dr. I Ketut Widiana, SpB(K)Onk with the title Management of Skin Cancer. The last material was presented by Dr. NIGAA Manik Yuniawaty W, SpB(K)Onk with the title Management of Soft Tissue Cancer.
The event went very well. The participants seemed enthusiastic in the seminar, this could be seen from the responses of the participants who kept asking questions during the discussion session. The participants seemed to have more curiosity about the early management of solid cancer. The event ended with the announcement of door prizes and distribution of certificates to seminar participants.
