Sidhakarya Meditation Module Development Workshop: From the Sacred Platform to Evidence-Based Science
The Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a Module Development Workshop with the theme "Sidhakarya Meditation: From the Sacred Platform to Evidence-Based Science." The workshop took place on Friday, September 19, 2025, in the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Room, Faculty of Medicine Building, Denpasar Campus. (September 19, 2025)
This workshop was held in connection with the dissertation research of Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Putra Eka Santosa, M.Fis, a doctoral candidate in the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, who has been researching and teaching Sidhakarya Meditation for over a decade. In his presentation, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Putra Eka Santosa, M.Fis, stated that he has successfully formulated Sidhakarya Meditation not only as a cultural ritual but also as an evidence-based medical intervention. Inspired by the Pajegan Sidhakarya Mask Dance, he mapped six fragments of human consciousness that align with the ego state theory in modern psychology. Each mask character is translated into psychological and physiological interventions, which are then formulated into a scientific module. With this approach, Sidhakarya Meditation is positioned as a mind-body intervention relevant in clinical contexts, ranging from psychosomatics, stress, and anxiety disorders to chronic disease rehabilitation.
According to the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr.
