The 3rd Asia Pacific Workshop and Conference on Molecular Medicine


The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud) collaborated with National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Burapha University (BUU) in a conference and workshop on the topic of molecular medicine which this time was held in Tainan City, Taiwan on 24-28 June 2024 after first in Bali in 2020 and in Thailand in 2022.


The event opened with remarks from Shan, Yan-Shen, M.D., Ph.D., Dean of College of Medicine, NCKU, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih M. Kes., and Dr. rer. Nat. Marut Tangwattanachuleeporn, Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, BUU, Thailand. In their remarks, each Dean from the three universities welcomed the ongoing collaboration and hoped that there would always be continuous events in line with molecular medicine updates.


The first and second days were filled with bioinformatics workshops. The third and fourth days were a conference which was also attended by invited speakers from FK Unud, namely Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes, Dr. Dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT (K), Dr. Dr. Urged Made Wihandani, M.Kes, Dr. Dr. Cokorda Bagus Jaya Lesmana, S.Ked, Sp.KJ (K), and Dr. rer. Nat. Dr. Ni Nyoman Ayu Dewi, S, Ked, M.Sc. The conference program also included oral presentations on the topics:

- Genetics and Epigenetics Aspects of Diseases

- Regenerative Medicine and Non-communicable Diseases

- Infectious Diseases

- Complementary and Alternative Medicines

- Emerging disciplines of biomedical research

The oral presentation was also attended by FK Unud lecturer, namely Dr. Dwijo Anargha Sindhughosa, Sp.PD and Dr. Dr. Ni Putu Tesi Maratni, S.Ked, M.Biomed and several undergraduate students who sent posters. Apart from that, the delegation was staff and students from Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Science China, Tokyo Institute of Technology, University of Jember, Burapha University, NCKU Taiwan, Mulawarman University East Kalimantan, Chung Shan Medical University Taiwan, Shinshu University Japan, and Buon Ma Thuot Medical University Vietnam also participated in the oral and poster presentation sessions. Mulawarman University volunteered to host the 2026 APCMM in Samarinda.


The event was also followed by the signing of an extension of the cooperation agreement in the field of education and research by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih M. Kes., with Dr. rer. Nat. Marut Tangwattanachuleeporn, Dean of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, BUU, Thailand.


The event closed with the presentation of souvenirs and group photos.
