The Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Holds a Guest Lecture on Stem Cell Therapy

The Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a guest lecture on "Stem Cell Therapy" in the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Room, Faculty of Medicine Building, Udayana University, Denpasar. The purpose of this guest lecture was to increase students' knowledge of stem cells so they can research and develop new products from them. (October 20, 2025)

The event began with remarks from the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Jawi, M.Kes., and continued with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subs.Onk.Ort.R(K), who also officially opened the event.

In his remarks, Prof. Jawi conveyed that the future direction of treatment will be cell-based or biological. A doctor must understand this issue to be able to address health problems with biological materials or stem cells. Stem cell research can also be conducted at the Stem Cell and Cancer Research (SCCR) in Semarang, Central Java, and in the future, it is hoped that the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, will develop a stem cell laboratory.

In his remarks, Prof. Eka expressed his gratitude to the speakers for taking the time to share their knowledge in the field of stem cell therapy and expressed his hope for further collaboration in this field. He also expressed his gratitude for collaborating with the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, to provide a guest lecture and expressed his hope that this would continue to be a regular annual guest lecture.

This guest lecture featured a competent speaker in the field of stem cell therapy, namely

Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si., Med., who is also the Head of the Master of Biomedical Sciences Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sultan Agung Islamic University.

Participants in this guest lecture were lecturers and students in the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
