Three-Campus Collaboration: ISMKI Bali Region’s 2026 "Bulan Bakti" Hosts Health Education and Screening in Tabanan

Medical students from various universities across Bali, united under the Indonesian Medical Students' Senate Association (ISMKI), successfully organized the 2026 ISMKI Bali Region *Bulan Bakti* (Month of Service) event.

This humanitarian initiative took place in Banjar Pasekan Kelod, Abian Tuwung Traditional Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency, on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Centered on the theme "Breaking the Silence, Building Resilience: Youth Leading the Fight Against Diabetes and Hypertension," the program was designed as a tangible form of community service, focusing on the pillars of health education and screening.

This annual event was organized collaboratively by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Warmadewa University (FKIK Unwar)—acting as the lead organizer—in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine at Ganesha University of Education (FK Undiksha) and the Faculty of Medicine at Udayana University (FK Unud).

The event began with an official opening by a representative from the Tabanan Regency Health Office and was attended enthusiastically by approximately 200 local residents. To maximize outreach, medical students engaged directly with the community, providing education on topics such as hypertension, metabolic syndrome, risk factor mapping, prevention strategies, and the adoption of healthy lifestyles.

In addition to centralized educational sessions, the collaborative team conducted door-to-door health education and screenings. Through this targeted approach, residents of Banjar Pasekan Kelod received basic medical check-ups, fostering collective awareness regarding the importance of early detection and the control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The 2026 ISMKI Bali Region *Bulan Bakti* stands as a concrete demonstration of medical students' contribution and commitment to applying the knowledge gained during their studies through health promotion and disease prevention efforts. The organizing committee extends its deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Tabanan Regency Health Office, the traditional village authorities, and all parties who contributed fully to the realization of this community service activity.
