Udayana University Faculty of Medicine Students Once Again Achieve National Achievement

Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, namely Assyifa Dewanda Parend and I Made Egga Adika Suputra, along with undergraduate students in the Dentistry Program, Ni Komang Sri Tirta Ayuniari and Ida Bagus Kade Rama Krisnayana, won first place in the Popular Scientific Essay category. This achievement was achieved through their innovative work on non-invasive marker-based early detection of cervical cancer, under the guidance of Dr. I Gusti Ayu Sri Darmayani, S.Ked., Sp.OG., M.Pd.Ked.

This award was received at the Mandalika Essay Competition, held by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Mataram at the M. Yusuf Abu Bakar Auditorium in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on May 16–18, 2026.

The competition attracted 575 finalists, consisting of 233 teams from 100 public and private educational institutions across 20 provinces in Indonesia. Udayana University also earned the Overall Champion title, winning 1st and 1st Place in the Popular Scientific Essay category, and 2nd Place in the Poster category.
