Visiting Lecture: Application and Advantages of Robotics in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery
The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, through its Surgical Specialist Study Program, once again held a Visiting Lecture with the theme "Application and Advantages of Robotics in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery." Through this activity, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, is committed to continuously expanding the knowledge and skills of its academic community in facing the rapid developments in medical technology, particularly in the field of robotic-based minimally invasive surgery. The event was attended by lecturers, doctors, students, and medical personnel enthusiastically following the latest technological developments in surgery. The event took place in the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Room, Faculty of Medicine Building, Udayana University, Denpasar Campus. (August 5, 2025)
The event was officially opened by the Coordinator of the Surgical Specialist Study Program, FK Unud, Dr. dr. I Made Mulyawan, Sp.B., Sub.Sp.BD(K)., in his remarks expressed his appreciation for the presence of these distinguished speakers who shared their knowledge on the advantages of this technology in improving precision, safety, and patient clinical outcomes.
The keynote speaker was Prof. Iswanto Sucandy, Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida and Division Chief of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery, who comprehensively presented the application of robotic technology in liver, pancreas, and bile duct surgery procedures. He shared in-depth insights into the advantages of this technology in improving precision, safety, and patient clinical outcomes.
The Visiting Lecture was moderated by Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Agung Indra Suharta, Sp.B, who led the discussion and facilitated an interactive Q&A session between participants and the speakers.
The Visiting Lecture concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers and a group photo session with all invited guests.
