Waste Management Socialization Towards a Green Campus at the Faculty of Medicine

In celebration of the 64th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine's Family Council (BKFK) and in support of the development of an Integrity Zone Towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK), the Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Medicine, held a Waste Management Socialization Towards a Green Campus event. This event took place in the A.A. Djelantik Room, Faculty of Medicine Building, Udayana University, Denpasar Campus. The waste management socialization was attended by students and environmental education staff from the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. (February 20, 2026)

The waste management socialization began with remarks by the Head of the DWP of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. Ny. R. Yully Prapyatiningsih, M.Biomed., Sp.THT-KL., who conveyed that waste management is a crucial issue and a shared responsibility. Proper waste management is not only an institutional obligation but also needs to be implemented in the daily lives of the entire academic community. Through proper management, waste is no longer seen as mere waste, but can be transformed into something useful and valuable for life. Through this outreach activity, he hopes that participants will gain a more comprehensive understanding of proper waste management. Furthermore, this activity will foster awareness and a shared commitment to realizing a clean, healthy, and sustainable campus environment, leading to the Green Campus of the Faculty of Medicine.

Following this, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K)., delivered remarks. He expressed his hope that this activity would benefit all participants and that its implementation would align with the commitment to developing an Integrity Zone within the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. As we all know, the waste problem is currently a crucial issue. The plan to stop accepting waste from the Suwung Landfill is a real challenge that we must address wisely. Therefore, through this activity, we want to provide participants with an understanding and practical tips on how to properly manage waste, especially in the household environment. It is hoped that this synergy will strengthen our shared commitment to implementing a sustainable waste management program. Participants will be able to effectively absorb the information from the speakers, apply it in their daily lives, and contribute to the dissemination of proper waste management practices to the community, both within the campus and in their respective homes.

The event continued with presentations by two speakers:

1. Ni Made Utami Dwipayanti, ST., M.B.Env., Ph.D., on Waste Management Towards a Green Campus, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

2. Ms. Yuria Mano presented on Eco Enzym Nusantara.

Following the presentations, the event continued with a discussion and question-and-answer session, which concluded with the presentation of certificates by the Head of the DWP, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
