Workshop on Developing the Vision, Mission, Strategic Plan, and Curriculum Revision for the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University
The Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held an offline workshop on Developing the Vision, Mission, Strategic Plan (Renstra), and Curriculum Revision on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in the Prof. Dr. dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Meeting Room, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Denpasar. This activity is part of the study program's ongoing efforts to evaluate, align, and develop educational direction in accordance with scientific developments, healthcare needs, and current higher education policies.
The workshop aimed to review and refine the vision, mission, and Strategic Plan of the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program for the 2025–2029 period to align with the vision of Udayana University, the Faculty of Medicine, and Ngoerah Hospital. In addition, this activity also discussed the revision of the specialist medical education curriculum to adapt to developments in educational standards, graduate competency needs, and the future challenges of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery services.
The event began with remarks from the Coordinator of the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. Agus Roy R.H. Hamid, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.T.(K), followed by remarks from the Head of the Department/KSM of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University/Ngoerah Hospital, Prof. Dr. dr. Putu Anda Tusta Adiputra, Sp.B., Subsp.Onk.(K). The following remarks were delivered by the President Director of Ngoerah Hospital, represented by the Director of Human Resources, Education, and Research, Ken Wirianti, S.E., MRM, who represented the President Director of Ngoerah Hospital. The event was then officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, represented by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Prof. dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, S.Ked., M.P.H., Ph.D., in his remarks expressed his deep appreciation to the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program for its consistent organization of workshops as a forum for strategic discussions. This activity is considered crucial in encouraging the sustainable development of the study program through the involvement of various stakeholders.
The event continued with a presentation of the draft Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Study Program for the 2025–2029 period by Dr. dr. Agus Roy R.H. Hamid, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.T.(K). Next, Dr. dr. I Wayan Juli Sumadi, S.Ked., Sp.P.A., Subsp.M.S.(K), Coordinator of the Learning Development and Quality Assurance Unit (UP3M) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, outlined the faculty's academic policy direction, strategic priorities, quality targets, and the relationship of the Faculty of Medicine's Strategic Plan to curriculum development and study program development.
The workshop also featured the Chair of the Indonesian College of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, Dr. dr. Lisa Hasibuan, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.L.B.L.(K), who presented the Indonesian Professional Education Standards for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons as a basis for curriculum refinement and development of specialist education within the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
Following the presentations, the event continued with a discussion involving faculty leaders, UP3M (University of North Sumatra), Komkordik (National Education Coordination Committee), lecturers, and other stakeholders. Various input and recommendations were provided to refine the study program's vision, mission, Strategic Plan, and curriculum, particularly in areas such as improving educational quality, developing human resources, expanding national and international collaborations, strengthening facilities and infrastructure, enhancing research and community service, and developing Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery services that support health tourism and medical tourism.
Through this workshop, the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, affirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are superior, professional, and internationally competitive, and able to respond to the needs of society and the development of health services at the national and global levels.
