Caring for Community Mental Health in Ubud, Master of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University Holds Community Service
Tourist visits to Peliatan Village, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali continue to increase every year and are indicated to exceed capacity or overtourism. Overtourism has a negative impact on public health, such as an increase in the incidence of infectious diseases and mental health problems, one of which is stress.
To prevent the occurrence or increase of stress problems experienced by residents in the Peliatan Village area, Ubud, Gianyar, the Master of Public Health Study Program (S2 IKM Study Program) held a community service on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Peliatan Village Office-Ubud, Gianyar Bali with the theme: "Community Empowerment in Preventing Stress Incidents Due to Excessive Tourist Visits in Peliatan Village - Ubud, Gianyar-Bali".
This activity was coordinated by the Chairperson of the Community Service Committee, namely Dr. Luh Seri Ani, SKM., M.Kes, and involved lecturers, students and staff of the S2 IKM Study Program. The service method is carried out by delivering literacy and demonstrations. Literacy on "Potential stress risks, signs and prevention of stress" was presented by Dr. dr. Cokorda Bagus Jaya Lesmana, SpKJ. (K). MARS., while the material "Anti-Stress Gymnastics Demonstration" was given by Govinda Vittala, S.Ft, Ftr., M.Fis.
The Head of Peliataan Village in his speech explained that activities like this are highly expected and can be carried out routinely to improve the health of the village community. The activity ended with the presentation of a plaque to the Head of Peliatan Ubud Village by the S2IKM Study Program represented by Dr. Drh. Made Subrata, M.Erg.
