ENT-BKL Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Holds Little Doctor Training for Elementary School Students of Bali Bilingual School, Bebalang Village, Bangli Regency


As a form of implementing the tridharma of higher education, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD) through the Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery (ENT-BKL) Specialist Study Program in collaboration with Prof. IGNG Ngoerah General Hospital held a little doctor training on ear health which was held on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Bali Bilingual School (BBS) Elementary School, Bebalang, Bangli Regency.


The event began with an opening by the MC of the event who came from the Bali Bilingual School Elementary School students using Indonesian and very good English. Then continued with a welcoming speech given by the principal of Bali Bilingual School I Dewa Ayu Supartini S.Pd. M.M. S.E, Coordinator of the ENT-BKL Health Science Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. Made Lely Rahayu, Sp.THTBKL (K), Head of the Health Office represented by the Secretary of the Health Office, dr. A.A. Dwi Wulantari M.Si, followed by remarks by the Head of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of Bangli Regency represented by the Secretary of the Office, Ketut Darmaja, SKM, M.Kes., who also officially opened the event.


On this occasion, the THTBKL Health Science Specialist Study Program provided material on ear health for little doctors delivered by dr. Ni Putu Oktaviani Rinika P., M.Biomed, Sp.THTBKL., the material was delivered by involving students directly. This direct training was attended by 20 selected students from grades 4 and 5 who actively participated in this training until it was finished. As an evaluation material for this activity, a pre and post test was carried out, at the end of the activity students presented the material independently and examined earwax with a simple flashlight.


On this occasion, the principal of Bali Bilingual School (BBS) I Dewa Ayu Supartini S.Pd. M.M. S.E welcomed this activity as a learning tool for students and to increase students' knowledge, especially about ear health.

Dr. dr. Made Lely Rahayu, Sp.THTBKL (K) in his speech expressed his gratitude for the participation of students and teachers who were active in the preparation until the event was held, dr. Dwi as Secretary of the Health Service said that this activity is in line with the Health Service program and is expected to continue and be carried out routinely and involve general practitioners at health centers in Bangli Regency.


Ketut Darmaja in his speech said that this activity was very good and BBS school could be a role model for this activity and hoped that this activity could be carried out in other schools in Bangli Regency up to junior high and high school levels.


This community service activity was closed with the handover of charters and plaques from the THTBKL FK-UNUD Health Science Specialist Study Program to the school, Health Service and Bangli Regency Education Service.
