Field Assessment of Re-Accreditation of Undergraduate Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

The Health Higher Education Self-Accreditation Agency (LAM-PTKes) conducted a field assessment in the context of re-accreditation of the Undergraduate Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. This re-accreditation is carried out in order to maintain and improve the quality of education and services at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.


Officially opened in the meeting room of Dr. A Made Djelantik, FK Unud-Denpasar Building, the field assessment by LAM-PTKes was held for 4 days on August 14 to 17, 2024 and was assessed by 3 assessors, namely:

  1. 1. Prof. drg. Sondang Pintauli, Ph.D (University of North Sumatra, Medan / Assessor 1)

  2. 2. Prof. drg. Tetiana Haniastuti, M.Kes, Ph.D (Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta / Assessor 2)

  3. 3. Prof. Dr. drg. Bahruddin Talib, M.Kes, Sp.Pros(K) (Hasanuddin University, Makassar / Assessor 3)


The opening ceremony began with remarks by the Dean of FK Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., and Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation & Information of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, M.Kes., who also officially opened the event. On this occasion Prof. Januartha said that accreditation is an obligation that has been regulated by law so that supervision from external parties is needed to be able to see objectively about aspects that require improvement and improvement in the management of study programs.

"We really hope that the assessors can give us an overview of the aspects that need improvement and improvement in order to maintain the quality of our study program, because the assessment by external parties will certainly be more objective and can provide input and recommendations to improve the quality of educational services provided by the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Professional Study Program so that it can produce graduates who have competence in accordance with the vision and mission of the study program." he said.


Meanwhile, Prof. Adiatmika in his remarks said that currently Udayana University is in the process of transforming into PTN-BH, and the university strongly supports the development of the educational process in the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Program, one of which is by accelerating the construction of the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) which can support the educational process in the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Program and can become an income generator for Udayana University.

"With the presence of the assessors, we hope that the assessors can provide input and recommendations that can help the development of the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Programs, and of course we hope that the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Programs can achieve superior accreditation scores that can support the transformation of Udayana University into PTN-BH." he said.


After the official opening, the event continued with a presentation by the Dean of FK Unud, Prof. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., regarding the overview of the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), as well as a presentation from the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Study Program in Dentistry and Dentist Profession, Dr. drg. Putu Lestari Sudirman, M.Biomed, about the profile of the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentist Profession Study Program.


The re-accreditation opening event was also attended by the President Director of Wangaya Regional Hospital, Head of South Kuta Health Center, KOMKORDIK Udayana University Hospital, President Director of Udayana University Hospital, President Director of Udayana University RSGM, Chairperson of LPPM, Chairperson of LP3M, Chairperson of USDI, Chairperson of UPT Library, Chairperson of the FK Unud Senate, Vice Deans of FK Unud, Coordinators of FK Unud Undergraduate Study Programs, Heads of Departments, Unit Coordinators at the Faculty of Medicine Udayana University, Udayana University Dentistry Student Association, as well as graduate users and the entire Accreditation Task Force Team.


The assessment agenda for 4 days is;

1.Meeting of the assessor team with the head of the study program management unit and practice vehicle.

2.Discussion of the assessor team with the head of the study program management unit.

3.Interview and assessment of lecturers who teach in the study program.

4.Interviews and assessments of the adequacy of education personnel regarding academic and non-academic services.

5.Interviews and assessments with alumni and students representing all students from each generation about academic and non-academic services.

6.Visitation of the assessor team to the Main Teaching Hospital and Network Hospital.
