FK Unud's Bachelor of Public Health Study Program Holds Guest Lectures Related to Re-understanding Disability by Combining Elements of Art, Abilities and Technology


In order to improve the competence and knowledge of students and lecturers regarding understanding and redefining the ability of disability, the Bachelor of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD) held a Guest Lecture at the Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Meeting Room, FK Unud Building, Denpasar. (5/9/2024)


Moderated by Ni Wayan Septarini, MD, MPH, Ph.D., this guest lecture invited Prof. David Escalona and Prof. Maria Asuncion Perez de Zafra Arrufat from the University of Granada, Spain. This guest lecture raised the topic "Body, Art and Technology: Redefining Disability in the Era of Globalization".


Attended by undergraduate students and lecturers, the event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Information, Prof. dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D. In his speech, Prof. Ady hoped that the knowledge that will be shared by the speakers will provide new views and knowledge about the definition of disability by combining elements of art, body ability and technology.


The guest lecture presented how technology and medical treatments can improve the lives of people with disabilities, as well as how technology, culture and economic power affect the definition of disability. This Guest Lecture is expected to be a place to exchange knowledge in seeing the factors that influence the definition of disability and increase the knowledge and competence of students and lecturers in the Bachelor of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
