UPPM Unit Coordinator Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., said that the purpose of this workshop was to strengthen research culture and awareness of the importance of protecting research results conducted by FK lecturers.

So far, there have been a lot of research results carried out by FK Lecturers, but the patenting process is still low so that the acquisition of Patents in FK is still limited. On the other hand, the patent itself is an inseparable part of innovation, because innovation must contain aspects of protection and commercialization or utilization by the community. Patents, Intellectual Property Rights, research prototypes and industrial prototypes as well as innovation products are targets for institutional performance, starting from the Dean to the Chancellor and the Chancellor to the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Finance. Therefore, research outputs in the form of patents and intellectual property rights will be the focus in the management of research in FK in addition to outputs in the form of scientific publications.
