Synergy between FK Unud and PERAPI Bali to increase knowledge in the field of trauma in plastic surgery


Together with PERAPI Bali, the Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held Continuing Medical Education (PKB) VI "Trauma in Plastic Surgery II" which is a scientific symposium and workshop activity in the field of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. Held on 20-21 April 2024 at The Trans Resort Bali. This event was attended and opened directly by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, FK Unud, Dr. Dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K) and this activity was led by dr. Gede Wara Samsarga, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.K.M.(K). PKB VI invited various experienced speakers in their fields and three of them were guest speakers from outside Bali, namely Prof. Dr. Dr. Theddeus O. H. Prasetiono, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp. T.(K)., Prof. Dr. Dr. Iswinarno Doso Saputro, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.L.B.L.(K)., and dr. Magda Rosalina Hutagalung, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.K.M.(K).


On the first day, namely April 20 2024, the symposium consisted of 5 sessions discussing "Craniomaxillofacial Trauma in Plastic Surgery", "Soft Tissue Trauma in Plastic Surgery", "Burn Management in Plastic Surgery", "Hand Trauma in Plastic Surgery" and "Pediatric Trauma in Plastic Surgery". This symposium was attended by more than 130 participants ranging from medical students, general practitioners, resident doctors to specialist doctors. Apart from that, an e-poster competition was also held which was attended by more than 40 doctors throughout Indonesia.


On the second day, namely April 21, a workshop was held which was divided into 2 topics, namely "How To Treat A Wound Like A Plastic Surgeon" and "How To Stitch Facial Wound Like A Plastic Surgeon". This workshop was attended by 65 participants ranging from medical students, general practitioners, resident doctors to specialist doctors.
