TBM Janar Dūta Medical Emergency Seminar and Workshop (SKGD) Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University 2024


The Janar Dūta Medical Assistance Team, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University again held a Medical Emergency Seminar and Workshop (SKGD) on February 24 2024 in a hybrid manner with the main location in the Nusantara Room, Udayana University Agrocomplex Building.


This year's SKGD was attended by 537 seminar participants and 222 workshop participants, consisting of the general public, students, and health workers who attended online and offline. Carrying the theme "URGENCY: Update on Respiratory Emergency," SKGD 2024 is expected to be able to increase participants' knowledge and skills related to emergencies in the human respiratory system, especially in handling cases that often occur in the community and can cause death.


A total of two seminar materials and two workshop materials were successfully distributed through this activity. The seminar was guided by Dr. Seva Ajisma with the first material entitled "Update on Respiratory Cases in the Emergency Setting" presented by dr. Ida Ayu Jasminarti Dwi Kusumawardani, Sp.P, while the second material was entitled "Update on Management Strategies Concerning Respiratory Emergencies" and was presented by dr. Putu Dyah Widyaningsih, Sp.P.


Apart from that, through the workshop session "Respiratory First Aid: Choking, Asthma, and Spirometry" presented by dr. Pande Made Andikayasa, Sp.P, participants were taught about providing first aid and using tools that are often used in treating cases of airway obstruction. In the next workshop session "Advanced Management Class: INTUBATION" by dr. I Made Prema Putra, Sp.An-TI, participants were taught the intubation procedure guided directly by doctors from Balinethesia.


SKGD 2024 was attended and inaugurated by striking a gong by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University together with TBM Supervisor Janar Dūta, Deputy Chair of BEM FK Unud, Chair of TBM Janar Dūta as well as representatives from student organizations, student associations and semi-autonomous bodies within FK Unud. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University expressed his appreciation for holding this activity and his hope for all seminar and workshop participants to be able to receive and apply well all the knowledge shared so that they can be a help when needed.
