Collaboration of FK Unud and Bongkasa Pertiwi Village to Improve Elderly Health


In order to implement one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with Abiansemal District in the field of research and community service. As a form of Implementation of Arrangement (IA) of the PKS, the Department/KSM of Internal Medicine, FK Unud/Prof Ngoerah General Hospital, Internal Medicine Specialist Study Program, FK Unud/Prof Ngoerah General Hospital and Internal Medicine Subspecialist Study Program, FK Unud/Prof Ngoerah General Hospital in collaboration with the Bongkasa Pertiwi Village Government and Abiansemal IV Health Center conducted research activities (health surveys) and health services and routine home visits every month which were held simultaneously and in synergy with the Elderly Posyandu activities of Abiansemal IV Health Center, Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal. This month's activity was held on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Banjar Karang Dalem II, Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal.


Today's social service activity was combined with a presentation of the results of a health survey conducted by the Department/KSM of Internal Medicine together with the Specialist and Subspecialist Study Programs of Internal Medicine, FK Unud/Prof Ngoerah Hospital in front of village government officials and the Abiansemal IV Health Center and Posyandu cadres which was held at the Bongkasa Pertiwi Village Head Office, Abiansemal.


This event was attended by the Head of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal and his staff, the Karang Dalem traditional village head of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, the Kelian Banjar in the Bongkasa Pertiwi Village area, the Head of the Abiansemal IV Health Center and Puskesmas staff, the Head of the PKK of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village and Posyandu cadres in the Bongkasa Pertiwi Village area. From the FK Unud/RSUP Prof Ngoerah, the Head of the Department/KSM of Internal Medicine was present; Dr. dr. Wira Gotera, SpPD, K-EMD, Coordinator of the Internal Medicine Subspecialist Study Program; Dr. dr. I Made Susila Utama, SpPD, K-PTI, representatives of the Internal Medicine Specialist Study Program; Dr. dr. I Made Pande Dwipayana, SpPD, K-EMD along with Internal Medicine staff of the FK Unud/RSUP Prof Ngoerah and several students of the Internal Medicine Specialist and Subspecialist Study Programs.


In the presentation of the results of the health survey conducted on 189 elderly people in Bongkasa Pertiwi Abiansemal village, the head of the activity; Dr. dr. I Made Pande Dwipayana, SpPD, K-EMD delivered the results in the form of a profile or metabolic and degenerative health conditions of the elderly people in Bongkasa Pertiwi village which includes 3 banjars (Banjar Tegal Kuning, Banjar Karang Dalem I and Banjar Karang Dalem II). The results of this survey are expected to be the basis for developing a health program by the Bongkasa Pertiwi village government and the Abiansemal IV Health Center to improve the health of the Bongkasa Pertiwi village community, especially the elderly.


The survey results that were submitted received a welcome and appreciation from the village government and the head of the Abiansemal IV Health Center, which will then be followed up with a follow-up plan in the form of compiling a health program to improve the health of the Bongkasa Pertiwi village community. The Bongkasa Pertiwi village government hopes that this collaboration can continue.
